A Ghost Walk Of Lisbon For the CCFHV

I started volunteering for the CCFHV (Columbiana County Families of Homicide Victims) about a year and a half ago. I met Mike Williams family in 2007 because I actually worked on Mike's case, paranormally. I got some fantastic EVP and spent 7 months looking for his family. I finally met them in August of 2007 and discovered that I knew his cousin, Belinda Puchajda, from high school. We quickly rekindled our friendship. Meeting Mike's mother, Shirley, made a huge impact on me because of her determination to find her son's killer. This woman could move mountains. Then I met some of the other moms like Sheryll Jackson, Gene Lysle's mom. He has been missing for 5 years now and she has never stopped searching for him. I support them and all the other families in their battle to get justice for their loved ones.
Ghosting 12 Paranormal didn't come until this year, and my little group is 8plus strong. When they learned about CCFHV, they jumped aboard too. Above you see some pictures of the CCFHV set up out at Rogers Sale, some of the posters we have made for the unsolved murders in the county, and some of my crew (Sarah, Jon, and Sallee) pictured with Belinda Puchajda during the Pottery Festival. We all wear the CCFHV tee shirts to most of the ghost hunting events I have. We choose to support the families of the unsolved murder victims and missing persons in this county because they need our help.
That is why we were kicking around the idea of having a ghost walk of Lisbon, Ohio and charge $5.00 per person. ALL THE PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE CCFHV. My time is all volunteer and that includes the research time.
I am looking for any ghost stories about Lisbon, Ohio. If you have any stories or information about the city that might be useful on a ghost tour, please email me. ghosting12@yahoo.com
I can see by my question on the side that most people wouldn't mind helping out by paying $5 for a ghost tour. I think that is wonderful. And believe me, these families need all the support they can get.

Looking for Hell's Half Acre

I ran across a mention of Hell's Half Acre while I was doing research for the East Liverpool ghost walk. How intriguing to learn that famous people in our history like John Dillinger and Baby Face Nelson once hung out in East End! I went down last night with Amber and we took some pics of the area. At this point I am not sure where it was precisely or if there is even anything left of it. There is this old building near the road, pictured above. It is OLD! Was it one of the buildings included in the area known for bootlegging, fist fights, prostitution, murder, robbery, saloons, taverns, bars, and bad guys? Or is Hell's Half Acre one of those historical places that got completely erased? The search is on. I am looking for any stories you might know, and especially the exact location of this area of East Liverpool's awesome past.
The main story I am hearing is of a bar owned by a woman. The bar was either built right on the state line or it had a tunnel that allowed easy escape for the gangsters that frequented the area.
I am also looking for info on a place called Island Run, which was supposed to be a small town area a few miles up Beaver Creek. It had a similar reputation as Hell's Half Acre. Please email me or leave a comment if you know anything or heard any stories about either of these places.

Finally, Part 5- Our Conclusions

During the evening we heard loud noises coming from the woods. It sounded like big sticks smashing into each other. This started about two hours after we began our Bigfoot calls. Somewhere in the darkness, some one or something wasn't happy. During one such event, something large crashed through the woods, breaking the branch pictured above. Certainly, no deer could have broken this big branch like that. Could it? And we found what might have been a couple large foot prints in the freshly mowed weeds and grass. We got the heel of the foot best in the pic.
Are we professionals at Bigfoot Hunting? Of course not. When the smashing sounds started coming from the woods, my little 6 person group walked as one unit across the field. (Wish I had a video of that!) Do I really think the evidence above is really evidence? It is what we found after the incidents that occurred. It could be. We have a night vision scope and Mike did see a large deer shoot out of the woods and across an open field opposite from where we all were.
But we had a GREAT time. We were out there living life, as it should be lived. Making our own adventures. I would go on another Bigfoot Hunt in a minute, and hope to plan one again soon.
My area of expertise is Ghost Hunting, but it was nice to dabble into something else for a change and try my hand at something new. Amber is the Bigfoot expert on my crew and this hunt originally was for her because she goes ghost hunting all the time with me. But it ended up being for all of us. Good job Amber and Amy and my crew of 30 plus family members. Something is out there, and it's not just ghosts.

The Sad, Lonesome Call Of A Bigfoot

We had tryouts to see who could do the best Bigfoot calls. There were many good tries, but our winners included Mat on the car seat, Amber, and Sarah, sitting by her mom, Amy. A few others tried their hand at it through the night, too. Every three minutes or so, someone would give their Bigfoot call. They were good and it was eerie.

Part 3 - Hunting For Bigfoot

The woods we traveled in were lush and beautiful. My brother had taken his tractor down earlier and made paths for us to walk on (since several members of our Bigfoot Hunting Team were certified city folk who actually wore flip flops as their only shoes). Coupled with a very full moon and it couldn't have been more perfect. All was quiet until the first Bigfoot call rang through the night.

Part 2 The Campsite or Home Base

The evening started with Native American stories from Amy. She even prepared little medicine bags that were meant as gifts to offer the Bigfoot, should we encounter him.
There was also a video that Amber showed on her laptop. It involved the photos taken in Pennsylvania of bear cubs and a possible Bigfoot. It is claimed that it was actually a bear with mange. She showed a pic of a bear with mange as well.
We then told stories of local sightings and personal exeriences and asked any one else there to tell any stories they knew.
Once finished, we began our adventure in the woods.

Our Bigfoot Adventure Part 1

First of all, the Bigfoot hunt was a huge success. Several members of my family are home visiting from Florida and Texas and they are the ones in the pics, except for Amber. We checked out the trails and put out things like noise traps to get ready for the evening events. And the evening events were good.

IN MEMORY OF DUSTIN HUFFMAN

I last saw Dustin Huffman at my Uncle Skeeter's funeral, in October of last year. I marveled at how he had grown and how handsome he was. But then, I hadn't seen him since he was 7 or 8. His Grandma (Helen Huffman, aka Skippy) was my mother's sister. For my mom, who knew him much better, this was a hard loss. To my shame, I barely knew him at all. Yet, I feel his loss. Maybe because he was so young. Maybe because I promised myself that I would strive to include my whole family somehow in my life, but in the back of my mind, I always thought I had time. How could I know I did not? All wrapped up in my own life, I missed knowing a really great kid that, by the stories I am hearing, was just that. A great kid.
My family is not close on my moms side. Her parents died when she was only three. They were the glue that held that family together, and when they were gone, their children went in many different direction. My mom was the baby, and while most of them lived in Salem, my mom ended up down in Calcutta. We barely ever saw them when I was growing up. That continued into our adult lives. I have cousins to my moms siblings that I have not seen in 20 or more years. Despite the fact that Dustin and his family lived in Salem and I lived in Calcutta, we never saw each other. No family reunions or picnics. Nothing.
I regret not knowing this fine young man. What an opportunity I have lost, forever. My Aunt says he truly loved his grandparents and helped them a lot when they were still alive. They mattered to him.
My little family went down to Gretchen's and left some flowers and a note to him, talking about what we had missed in not knowing him. We also left a wreath of flowers at the lookout above Gretchen's. The sadness there is one you can almost touch. I feel like I missed something great. I know I did. I will be thinking of you a while Dustin Huffman. Your Life's Light will be greatly missed.

OUR BIGFOOT ADVENTURE GETS A TEST RUN

We are doing a camp out on July 5 as a test run before we do a more intense Bigfoot Hunt. It is one thing to camp in your back yard or at a camp ground, but quite another to be out in the middle of nowhere. We chose this tree(pictured above), which umbrellas out and is huge underneath. We will be surrounded by woods, but close enough to home in case we need something we didn't think of for supplies. Since we have never done this before, I am sure there are lots of things we will realize we need after we are out there. It is also a good screening technique. That way we can find out who should go and who isn't cut out for it. Some people are not woods oriented, only maybe they don't know it.
We are also going to a sports store to find a hunting camera, the kind you strap to a tree and it takes pictures via a motion detector. While there have been no recorded sightings in this area since 2007, we feel it will be good practice for us. After all when I said something is out there, it doesn't just mean ghosts.

Unusual Grave Markers Reply

This was sent in by Sharon Clauss and she took it in The City of Mesa Cemetery in Arizona. Thank you Sharon! She said I would get a kick out of it and I did. Anyone else that has any unusual cemetery pics, please email them to me and I will put them on here. Please don't forget to say where you took the pic so we can go look at it for ourselves.
